Has anyone installed Aerocatch latches on a C6? I'm looking for some ideas on where/how to mount the studs.
As the kids say... Pic for Attention.
This is what happens when you have an small engine fire and can't unlatch the hood because the release cable melted. The only thing that saved it was that we were able to shoot the extinguishers down through the TracSpec vents and put the fire out.

Here you go, but will run into the same problem if the cylinders are locked. Hence fumbling with a key on the lathes as the fire is spewing out the hood is not going to work, unless you have a flame suit on.

So an idea, built the car/motor so it does not catch on fire in the first place!!!!
Or if a true track car, then simple threw post with U clip retainers that you can pull quickly to get the hood open if needed isntead.
As for the pins, remove the factor latches, and make box brackets to bolt into the factor latch locations, that the pins will thread into the box bracket to give your the up and down adjustment to them.

Thank you. That would be great.Originally Posted by R_W
I'll snap photos of mine if I can remember to in the next 24 hours or so...I installed mine right where the metal pieces near the top of the hood. I don't have a under pic but I used a small rubber bushing between the hood and metal where the pin is attached

ExploreI bought a piece of L beam at Home Depot and had it cut to fit. Drilled the holes to match the stock latch mounting bolt positions for the hatch releases. For the front, I mounted where the stock hood struts mount, and mated to of the L beams together to form a sort of _| |¯ shape to bolt down, and provide a platform to mount the hood pin. I can get a few more angles on the brackets if need be. Install was simple. The hardest part was determining where to cut the hood for the perfect fitment. Mine is 98% correct, as it was all DIY.
