Help !!! Anyone located in Southern Florida that would recommend me a shop that will do shocks for a C6 ? I need to replaced my rear shocks for my 2007 Coupe.

If the back shocks are gone, then replace all 4 shocks.

As for what shocks to use for the replacement set, which model car do you have, hence base, Z51/GS, or Z06 isntead. Also do you have magnetic ride in the car or not, since the shocks would need to be replaced with MRC shocks again.

Lastly, why do just the rear shocks need to be replaced in the first place.
If MRC shocks, car has under 100K, and someone told you there where leaking, they are full of *****!!!
Hence MRC shocks have iron partials in the fluid, and if the shocks where leaking fluid, then the fluid wiped of the shock with a shop towel, would allow a magnet to stick to the fluid on the shop towel.

Also, when the shocks are replaced, will need to have the car re-aligned all 4 corners.

At 75K, OEM shocks are about worn out anyways even if they are not leaking, so time to replace the set anyways.

Shocks you want to get are the Bilstein B6 performance shocks for the base car.
The B8 shocks on the below page are for the Z51 and Z06 cars, and will produce a harsher/stiffer ride that what you may want instead.

Also to note, the Koni FSD's are a great shock for the Vet as well, but will produce a ride about as stiff as the B8 shock.
And yes, the Blistein and Koni shocks are a huge step up in handing over the base OEM shocks!!!!!

So my advice if you are not going to wrench on the car yourself, pick up the needed Blistein B6 shock set (should be around $400), then find a shop like Midis or the likes in your areas that you can trust, that can not only install the shocks, but align the car once the shocks have been installed at the same time.
Note, check with the shop and see if they can order the Bilstein B6 for the car, and if the price is about the same as what you are going to pay to buy them on line and have the shop install them, then let them get the shocks to install on the car instead.

Also, I bring up Midis, since it's one of the few shops local shop to me that I can trust to do a alignment correctly the vet, but may be another alignment shop to you that you can trust isntead. Check with the local vet clubs, and they should be to turn you on to a good shop that they take their cars, and trust that will be a hell of lot cheaper than taking your car to the dealer.

As for if the car is mostly a DD that your not pushing hard, then have then use the Pfadt pure street alignment specs, since this will give you longer life on the tires; instead of the inner edges of the tires wearing out faster using the OEM alignment specs for when the car is pushed hard in the corners instead.

Dano523, thank you so much for the information and advice. I am going to take your advice and replace all four. One more question, how can you tell if your shocks are electronic suspension or not ???

 

Walk in the part and first check to see if your glove box sticker has F55 in the code number,


Or just look at the center console behind the shifter to see if you have a **** dial that has tour and sport on it.


If no F55 code on the glove box sticker, and no tour /sport dial behind the shifter, you don't have F55/MRC shocks in the car.


If you do have the above, then could still be that someone pulled the F55/MRC shocks, disabled the F55 system, and put non MRC shocks in the car.
To check for this, then just lock at the top of the shock next to the engine fuse box, and see if it has a electrical connector on the top of shock rod isntead.

Hence would look like this if the shocks are MRC shocks with a F55 system,


And in the below photo since there is not a connector on the top of shock rod next to the fuse box, this car is not running MRC shocks.

The shocks are charged, and the new shocks will change the ride height/stance of the car.
So it due too the new stance of the car that all 4 wheels have to be realigned.

 

I see you're in FTL and I'm in West Palm Beach, but this shop is fantastic an in my opinion surprisingly reasonable $$

Dano523, thank you for being very supportive. I checked my car and I don't have neither the code nor the **** on the console. So I have the regular shocks. I have decided to go with the Bilstein B6 Performance Shocks. Thank you for the recommendations.
