Default C7 seats in C6?

I've been searching for quite some time and haven't really found a definite answer.

I found some c7 seats locally and wanted to know if I can put in my C6.

The seats are 1LT seats with side airbags. Mine are the 1LT seats as well.

Really looking to find out before I waste money on them

You can put them in. You will have to figure out the electronics if applicable and you will lose a bit of headroom. They are not a direct bolt in, plug and play swap, however.

Default Wiring

Was thinking..could you just remove the C6 wiring harness off the seat and splice it on the C7 seat? Or the controls be different?

It's very different. In theory there are 3 main areas you need to think about.

1. Power to the seat for the controls.
2. The safety system and plugs so you don't get airbag lights.
3. Power to the ventilation fans if your C7 seat has them .

1. You can get power to the C7 seat by cutting off the C6 harness from the C6 seat and running 3 (I think) wires from the C6 plug into the C7 harness's plug for power.
2. This requires a resistor for the side airbag and the stock C6 pretentioner to plug into the harness in the car. On the passenger side you also need a resistor for the seat position sensor. And finally you need to address the passenger occupancy sensor either by swapping the bladder from the C6 seat into your C7 seat or by taking the bladder out of the C6 seat and rolling it up tightly so the car thinks you have a passenger. There are pros and cons to each route you take.
3. You need to grab power from the main harness and build a new circuit that will switch the power on/off going to the gray plug on the back of the seat so you can turn the fans on and off.

Since this thread is old, luckily people have solved all of this before us. You can search the forum to see how other people did the wiring, or you can buy a premade, plug and play harness from Vetteworks. I chose the latter and the seat swap was still a pain, I am glad I didn't have to sort out that headache.

Here's my thread if you are interested in pursuing this swap further: https://www.corvetteforum.com/forums/c6-corvette-general-discussion/4747964-c7-seat-install-guide.html
