Default Converting to 17” rears

I have a base convertibl, z51 pushing way over 550 rwhp. Converting to 17” welds in the rear.
  • stock tires are 27.44 inches. Looking at nitro nt05r. But there are a 26 in tire. I already know this will turn on th “drag nag”
anyone running 17” wheels on a base model? What tire/size are your running.

I'm running a 27.4 inch tire on a Z51 and don't have the engine decel if that's what you're talking about.

If the front and rear tire heights are within like 1.7 -2. You should be good. I run 26 in the front and my rear is 28 and am frequently above 100mph no issues. I ran 26 and 26 the year before and was fine.

I'm dropping down to a 17 in the rear next year and will run a 26 tire. Should be fine.

I ran 295/45r17 ET Streets on my narrow body C6 coupe. Used gen 4 F body rims. Cheap and available. They hooked 650 wheel hp very well. They wouldn't fit over my next Vette's brakes (2013 Grand Sport) though. 27.2" diameter tire. Shouldn't give the nannies anything to bark about.
