Default Help!!

[QUOTE
My o5 automatic has service engine light, service traction system, and speedometer isn’t working. Car first ran rough like blup.. blup with no power. We cleaned transaxle, transmission connections, and car has a u-0101 code, which oddly is a tranny control module, not the abs module. I got the tcm off and the plastic brace it attaches to was cracked and broke. Should I just replace the tcm module? And can it be what’s triggering my traction system issues. I’m new here, sorry if I posted this in the wrong spot . Also when I re-tested it drove better but it’s like in a limp mode or is stuck in 2nd gear from a stand still, but doesn’t overrev and car is driveable, but is way weak. Again obd2 only shows the u-0101 code but I did find a ebcm code pending, but again only one current code, the u-0101. Any input would be fabulous. I refuse to go to a dealer!

when the TCM goes south it does just what you stated.will not up shift to proper gear.replaced mine a few years back and fine ever since.easy and fairly inexpensive fix.the new TCM will need to be programmed to the car with a Tech II.your other issues will most likely disappear once you replace TCM

Thanks for input, now I read some are “plug n play” modules, and you just plug it in and are ready to go
