I was in a rush for no reason and I needed to jump my 2005 Vette. Well I put the jumper cables on the wrong terminals, no I have absolutely no power to the car. and there was a awful smell coming from the cabin and from the engine bay. I checked every single fuse, no fuses are busted. I'm not sure how to check the relays on the fuse boxes. I haven't checked the computer in the car. after I checked the fuses I decided to try to jump it one last time. I hooked up my cables to my other car then I put the positive on the correct post then I touched the negative wire and it sparked pretty bad. I am taking my battery in tomorrow to get it checked.
Is there anyone that could possibly tell me what could be wrong?
Well, there are many possibilities. Let's hope the various fuses and fusible links saved you from a real catastrophe.

Update: I took off my alternator to test it at a local shop. The alternator tested 'Good' so another piece of the puzzle is done. I am now going to check the ECM to see if that got burnt. I will be getting my battery back tomorrow after a full day of charge.
Update: So this morning I woke to get my battery from the local advance auto parts. The battery was still good. I went back to my car and put the battery in, the car started! This made my entire day, now I can focus on my exams this week. On the down side my Bose speaker amplifier is fried. But that's okay, I rather have that gone then my entire electrical system.
All Electronic Control Units on modern vehicles are required to pass a Reverse Battery Test. Basically is someone installing the battery is not paying attention and hooks it up backwards they don't want it to blow every ECU in the vehicle. You went from a little positive to very negative very quickly with the jumper instead of no voltage to negative. I'm still surprised anything blew, but luckily it was only the amp.
Good time to upgrade your setup. Bose amp sucks for upgrading because it takes the audio signal and filters to front "subs" so you cant swap them out for 6.5"s if you want to do an external sub.
