Exhaust Z06
I'm new to the C6 Z06. I have a 2008 Z06 with 26k on it. When running in the garage the exhaust fumes are really bad. My C5 Z06 doesn't smell like that. Door is open of course. Does the C6 Z run really rich? As far as I know it's bone stock right down to the air filter. Thanks, Bill

If you still have cats, they probably have been knocked out internally.

Someone probably knocked the insides of the cats out to possibly make more power

Wouldn't the check engine light come on?

Sounds like someone gutted the catalytic converters, then most likely the tune was adjusted for the CEL.

Agree with previous. It's VERY easy to get around the light coming on.
I run Z06 cats on mine just so I DON'T have smells.. something isn't right.

Does your state require an actual sniffer or just plugging into the OBD port?

C6Z's are tuned from the factory to be on the rich side, but we're talking WOT AFR's. As for cold startups, sure its going to be a little rich. If you just got done driving your car around for a sustained period of time and then pull into the garage...you shouldn't have a strong exhaust fume smell. Cold start idling in my garage though...I'd say my C6Z is more odorous than my C5Z was as well.
