So my radiator just cracked and I’ll need to replace. I have a quote for a Delco replacement for about $600 (with tax) or I can buy a high performance Dewitt radiator through Vengeance Racing for $820.
Anyone have experience with the Dewitt radiator or any other high performance radiator? Is it worth it to upgrade for the $200 price difference?
i have a 06 Base Z51, bolt one only right now but plan on doing cams, heads, and intake.
Thanks I need to make a decision soon so I’ll take whatever feedback I can get.
Dewitt's is well worth the upgrade. For starters, you'll never have to worry about another plastic end tank cracking on you, since Dewitt's are 100% aluminum with tig welded end tanks.. Far superior Core/cooling capacity to OE, and you do live in a hot climate. No brainer IMO.

Thank you for helping me justify it to myself lol. I was leaning towards it to be honest.
Had a DeWitts in my C5 Z06. Excellent upgrade. Your car will not overheat even in the hottest Florida or Arizona weather. And it is an excellent upgrade if you increase the power (and therefore heat load) of the engine.
The Dewitt radiator is a very good unit with extra cooling, but if all you need is a stockish raditor cooling, they can be found with alunimuam weld sides (not plastic crimped on sides) for less money instead.
Just make sure your ordering the correct radiator, hence look at the back sides of the raditor at the plastic tank sections and figure out if you need dual side oil cooling, or single side cooling instead.
Dual cooling, with oil lines going into both sides of the end sections.
Single oil cooler, with oil lines going into only one side of the end section,

Thanks, yeah the one I need has the dual coolers and of course is the most expensive version of the radiator. 😩

Dano, is there a radiator that you would rate better than the Dewitts and why?
Look at ECP. Ive used their radiators in my C5 and now my C6. From stock to 900rwhp theyve worked great. Theyre a quality piece too at a fraction of the price of other "Corvette" rads.
I had a friend that was CEO of a major radiator company that supplied the Z07 radiators, so I put one of those in my car. It is also all aluminum, but not sure how much GM charges for them.
I went with a Dewitts with the dual tank sold by Hinson Motorsports thru Amazon for $699 and free shipping last year. Very happy with it and the packaging was very well designed so it got here in perfect condition. I did it to get rid of the GS oil to air cooler which kept the oil too cold for a daily driver.

Better, no since the Dewitts radiator build is very robust, and has better cooling than the OEM unit.
Now if you don't need the extra cooling, then you can find C6 radiators that are all aluminum welded construction (no plastic clipped on sides) that will cool just as well as the OEM unit for around/under the $300 mark instead .
You cant go wrong with the dewitts for a drop in replacement that is better that stock. The other choice is ron davis. They are not a direct fit like the dewitts but in my opinion they are a step above in cooling. The stock fans work just fine with the better radiators.
So my radiator just cracked and I’ll need to replace. I have a quote for a Delco replacement for about $600 (with tax) or I can buy a high performance Dewitt radiator through Vengeance Racing for $820.

Thanks I need to make a decision soon so I’ll take whatever feedback I can get.
You can get ours for about the same cost as OEM with the black friday sale going on. Vengeance is one of our dealers so it can be purchased through them.

That's phenomenal - did a side by side with Dewitts and they look spot on - if you don't need a EOC, which I do not, then this might be a good way to go for most - I might just go with this for my next project!
