Default large cam swap?

I just bought my '05 z51 ls2 6speed manual corvette not too long ago and I already have a couple mods I did to it myself along with what the previous owner added. I have already order my kooks long tube headers along with its xpipe exhaust system with fast flow cats. I'm looking to build my car to drag/street race specs, it wont be daily driven as much as most due to the fact that I work extremely long hours. I would like to find a large cam to compliment the aggression and performance of not only the sound but also the additional mods that is on it now and the ones that will be ordered shortly.

it has currently:
-tuneable exhaust (not sure make or model, previous owner installed)
- monster stage 2 clutch assembly
- short throw shifter
- cold air intake ( not real sure about this make or model either)

There are a ton of off the shelf cams that you can buy but your best bet would be to get in touch with Ed C from flowtech induction and have him spec you out a cam. I had VRX5 in my 05 ls2 GTO that was somewhat tame but was a pretty big cam, had a great chop to it and made good power.

http://www.flowtechinduction.com not sure if I'm allowed to link this if he's not a sponsor but oh well.

what type of camshaft would work better for the ls2? I'm still kinda new to building on the ls engines

-hydraulic flat tappet
- solid flat tappet
- hydraulic roller
- solid/mechanical roller
- overhead camshaft

If you are looking to run a more aggressive camshaft on this vehicle here is the one i would reccomend since you have a manual version. This is known as our 2R max camshaft and below with the picture will include the cam specs but overall i think should be in the ballpark of what you are looking for! As with all bigger cams you just need to check piston to valve clearence to make sure you are all good! This cam will make good power and have a very aggressive idle as well. For more info shoot me a pm or a call at 313-561-5500 ext 104 my name is cody and ill be glad to assist you! Cam specs are as followed:
Lift 235@.050
Duration 242@.050
Lift .608"
Duration .608"
LSA 114

Try to remember that it’s easier to overcam than undercam. 1 size too small will always be faster than 1 size too big.
