My steering rack is leaking from the lower of the two fittings. , I tightened the fitting, and the aluminum line was still loose. I then removed the fitting from the rack and observed that there was no flair or compression fitting to stop the fluid from coming out when under pressure.
Does anyone know how i can replace this fitting ? Can I flare the end of it? Can I get a compression piece to slide over the line? As you can see from the photo, the end of it is straight, perhaps there was a flair there but it broke off? Any suggestions would be appreciated. Of course i an told that it is a non serviceable item and i must replace the rack, UGH
Thank you Just spoke with Jeff to get me the parts , this may save me from having to replace the entire rack ( and having to realign everything etc. ) Many thanks
Will let you know how it goes
