Hello, new to this site, lots of info. Is there a dyno test for a 6.0 C-6 that compares the axle back Hooker vers Borla exhaust? and what about sound , I am looking for a mild sound, not open ex. Thanks guys. I have extensive engine build experience, so I will be able to help out in the future. But mostly big inch builds.
yes, so what has a decent deep rumble that is not obnoxious?
no disrespect meant, however I believe in dyno work, that is why I built my own, 2500 horse Depac , I have pulled over 7000 dyno runs just not a chassis set up to run a complete system shoot out. There is so much to learn from a dyno, especially proving what should not work. It is a real eye opener

Corsa and Borla have good sounds depending on which system you choose. Dyno numbers from any exhaust regardless of what the manufacturer states is next to nothing and if any most certainly not detectable. Nobody in their right frame of mind would waste money on a exhaust change dyno. In most cases zero change to a max of five if you had a severely restricted system.
I have just taken my NPP dual mode mufflers off and replaced them with the Hooker Blackheart dual mode axle back full 3". I have headers and cats and it is a little louder in quiet mode than factory it has a nicer almost Ferrari v8 whine to it when you wind it up but am still waiting to get on the dyno before I run it really hard as I also changed the cam and dont want to abuse it without a full tune done. In loud mode it is significantly louder than the factory NPP as you are going from a 2 1/2" restriction to a full 3" all the way.
I have the hooker blackheart axle back and i love the way it sounds. One note to point out, at around 2k rpm it hurts my wifes ears (Drone). It gets loud but it suits me fine. I just short shift with her in the car to keep the peace. Stock manifolds and H pipe with cats.
I feel they all sound "good" but the amount of drone you wanna put up with may dictate the system
Here are the systems I have had on my c6z and reviews
Modded npp--no drone closed, open sounds amazing and has a great note
lg gt4- worst drone ive ever heard....sounded AMAZING while on throttle and WOT
b&b fusion-SLIGHT drone open and not out of control loud at WOT......closed is no drone
I will take the plunge one day for corsa because i wanna see what all the hype is about but it will be sport or extremes
I would like to say borla s-type and hooker would sound great with tolerable drone but those are 2 that ive never heard in person on a c6, only a c5z
I ran billy boat PRT on my c5z and it was simply amazing
Hope thus helps
all these were with lg super pro long tubes, 3in x pipe and NO cats , 3in over axle as well
I have Borla Atak and LG Headers and sound is loud with deep rumble. Old school muscle and I love it!
So if you are looking for mild then Borla is not for you.

Borla makes at quieter I think it is called Sport. I personally have Borla ATAK and Long Tubes and love it
The quieter Borla mufflers are called the "Touring".
After I installed headers on my 2011 GS, I had to remove the stock NPP mufflers on my car because it was so much louder at wide-open throttle after the headers were installed.
During normal driving, the Borla "Touring" mufflers will be just slightly louder than the OEM mufflers, but have no obnoxious drone while driving at highway speeds.
Don't expect any real HP increases just by changing out the mufflers on these C6s .... To get a real HP increase, you need a set of quality long-tube headers and a good dyno tune.
