Automatic c6 wanting to do a cam
So looking to buy a car soon and am curious what it will cost to do a cam upgrade if I buy a automatic I know if I got a 6 speed it would be decent on a cam swap but how will the automatic hold up. I know a stall will be needed but how will drive ability be

i spent like 5500 but i got heads, cam stall also had my engine pulled did new harmonic balancer ,replaced liters, bunch of gaskets ( had a small oil leak near the oil pan) i think the stall alone was 7-800

awesome. So should be around 3k or so for a cam and maybe a little more with stall also.

6l80s are solid up until about 650whp, at which point you're basically rolling the dice over whether it will shift well under load. Headers/cam/tune won't get you anywhere near breaking it.
Properly dialed tune will make you barely notice it's there unless you step on it, but if you get a fairly aggro cam you probably won't be able to tune out the idle lope.
Avoid 4l60s (Early 05's only iirc) unless you're getting a killer deal imo.

Are you going with a big cam? If not..no stall needed.I have a comp cam from texas speed, headers, intake.TB and tuned and it has a very nice lope and driving on the street is no problem at all.

Prob be like 4-4500 for cam, supporting mods including trunions, ATI balancer, stall, and tune. There's cheaper balancers. Pin the balancer while it's apart. There are stock stall cams that make power and sound good.
