Guys, my bearing are getting bad on my C6. What brand/model of hubs should I replace them with? Yes. I’m enjoying tracking this car.
Thanks in advance.
I've replaced all of mine twice. I went with the cheap ones from Amazon the first time and the right rear kept failing. Then I ordered the SKF Street hubs for about $150 each. Night and day difference. The SKF hubs were a MUCH better design in many ways. I made a post with pictures a year or so ago illustrating the differences which are significant.
The short story is that there are only two choices - SKF street hubs for ~$150 each or the SKF racing hubs for ~$300+ each. I would offer that the street hubs are great, but if you planning real track time then the racing hubs is probably worth it.
The cheap amazon hubs felt just like the stock hubs, but the car feels much better with the SKF hubs. The car is noticeably more stable and the steering is much more precise, not C7 precise, but way better. Even my wife noticed.
Also, next time you get tires go to a real wheel shop and make sure you wheels are not bent. Two of mine were bent.
It's a pretty reasonable job to do yourself, just visit Harbor Freight and get a real ball joint tool ($25). There's no reason to beat on your aluminum suspension with a hammer.
Guys, thanks for the advice. I went with the race hubs in the hope of not having to replace them quite so often.
At the same time as the hub replacement, I threw some Pilot Sport 4S and did a little bit of a track alignment too. The ride home last night from the shop felt like I was driving a different car. Can’t wait to get it on the track Monday.
I'll second the street SKF hubs for normal driving. I bought one from NAPA when they were having their 20% anything that fits in the 5 gallon bucket sale.

I just went through something similar to this with my 2011 Base Model. If you replace the axles with 2009 - 2013 GM Z06 or ZR1 Axles the 33 Spline hub will work. Just a fun fact: The axles are cheaper than the hubs. Maybe link below will help if you decide to upgrade.
Anyone have a good suggestion on where to get new hubs for my base model 08 with Z51 pkg? Probably just want the SKF street hubs but want to make sure I get the right ones and a decent price. Appreciate the help!!!

The AC Delco brand hubs have SKF bearings. At least the ones I bought for my car did. I bought mine from the local AC Delco Wholesale Parts House. If you buy them from LG Motorsports I am pretty sure you are getting the same hubs as AC Delco with ARP Wheel Studs for a very inflated price. I had to replace because I went to ZR1 axles which have a higher spline count on the hub side. You can click on my link above on Post #8. Check out the picture with the new AC Delco hub on the right. It clearly says SKF on the hub. Just my 2 pennies.

There are two different SKF hubs. The track version and the street version. The only way to get the track version is to pony up the $400+ a piece, otherwise, you have the street versions SKF bearings. NAPA premium hubs are SKF as well.
I just picked up a set of SKF street hubs on Summit for pretty cheap with a sale that was going on; probably one of the best prices going around.
Thanks for reply. Just checked Summit and saw what I assume are the street SKF for around $135. Only had 1 review with 1-star rating so that makes me a little nervous. Seems like everyone on the board recommends SKF so I was sure hoping for a good rating on the product page. Thoughts?

Yes, those are the street hubs. If you actually read the 1 star review, you will see it is a person that tracks the car. He bought the wrong hubs for his application and complained about it. Granted, he might just have hit a bad hub, which can happen with any manufacturer. That said, I've been happy with my SKF hub that has been on the rear of my car for 2+ years.

Yes, I did see that. Like you said every company has a bad part once in a while - I was just hoping to see 90+% good reviews. However all on this forum speak highly of SKF so that is good enough for me. Thanks!!!
I paid a little under 400 total to have one rear Ac Delco (skf) installed on my corvette a couple months ago. I had to replace it because the speed sensor failed and is non serviceable. Its about a five dollar part.... The actual bearing will be the first to fail ion most cases as they almost always over engineer those components. Fronts will be higher priced as well...
