LS7 Stroker Build
I no longer own a C6. After having two of them I can still say they are one of my most favorite cars to spend time in. That being said at this time I have harkened back my 20s and find myself owning another F-Body, a 1999 Camaro SS 6 speed manual. I know I know, but after seeing it I couldn't say no. I feel like I am back in college with my 2000 Z28 again!
I picked the car up last summer with 54k miles on it. It's a one owner car (before me), had two sets of tires since new, one set of spark plugs, regular oil changes, and the only mod was a K&N filter. So to say it's bone stock is an understatement in the world of "every LS1 F-Body is modified". There is not even a CAI on this thing. But I bought the car because it makes me smile. Could have had a new Vette but the C7 just doesn't make me smile and after two C6's I was ready for something a little different and I can enjoy with my 4 year old daughter, who BTW has a "Corvette Girl" shirt she asks to wear.

Before I started with power mods first and this time I started at the other end of the spectrum. So far I have the following.
1. BMR Stage 3 handling package with Koni adjustable shocks, includes sways and springs
2. Strut tower brace
3. Subframe connectors
4. Adjustable pan-hard bar
5. Adjustable lower control arms
6. Dana S60 rear with 3.73 gears and chrome moly yoke
7. PST aluminum drive shaft
8. TSP 1 & 7/8 headers
9. TSP catless mid pipe
10. Electric cutout
11. Tune
Knowing the power I want to make I will absolutely be replacing the stock T56 with a Magnum T56. Sticking with the 2.66 first gear and the .63 6th gear. So the engine I have decided on is an LS7 441 stroker.
I am looking into resleeved LS7's with a stroker crank. Original goal was 600+ rwhp but I'm not chasing a number just for the sake to do so. With the Dana S60 sucking some extra power and the 3.73s giving a lower readout than say 3.42's I am still looking for high 500s but peak power it's not my main goal. With the 3.73's I am ok with not having a stump puller of torque on the bottom but a super high strung rpm engine isn't the goal either. Somewhere in the middle to make the car fun in any driving condition is my goal.
Anyone build a similar style engine or have some good ideas? I have done some searching but am by no means an expert. My thoughts are 11.5:1 compression, PRC 265 heads, 113 .630-.650 cam, Mamo ported MSD Atomic intake.
Thoughts?
Attached are a few pics.
He can best tell you who's had a similar build (with his top end) and what kind of power they turned out.
He can also spec you a cam to further ensure you reach your power and 'driving comfort' goals.
Best of luck!!!

I realize my car is not a C6 but the engine I plan to drop in is from one.

There is no real budget that I have set so I do not plan to pick two of the fast, cheap, and reliable. I want a car I can enjoy for years to come and scare the living crap out of people if need be. Plus I want to give road racing/track days a go. I know the 4th gen is not ideal but I am sure with the mods I have and will continue to throw at it the car will well surpass my abilities.

Thanks. I will make sure to take some pics as things progress.
Having a cam that works with the large ci to provide a lot of power under the curve and still pull like a freight train on top is the goal.
