Hey guys,
I am thinking of purchasing exhaust, and I do like the dual mode function. I am looking at getting some Kooks Headers, but not sure of which X-Pipe to get with them. Secondly for those that have their setup with NPP, what're your real world opinions and feedback of this setup with the NPP exhaust?
i have 1 7/8 primary tube headers with the catted x pipe, by kooks, on my 09 Z, it bolts to the stock exhaust, has no effect on npp, is a little louder, noticeable but not bad. I used the catted pipe to eliminate exhaust smell and lower emissions on a 10 sec street car cant be a bad thing.
Running 1 7/8 long tubes with 3 inch catless x Pipe to my npp, very loud with npp open and yes it will drone at certain steady rpm's. Closed npp not so bad until you stomp on skinny pedal.....
You have two X pipe choices. Catted or off road (no cats). Just need to know the year model. And yeah, there're loud as all hell with the NPP's open and almost stock like quiet with them closed. I ran mine with no cats. Add cats and they will be a little quieter.
I'm running the 1 7/8 kooks with their catless x pipe into my factory npp. I love it. It's the perfect combination. Open and on the throttle it's definitely loud but cruising its fine and you always have the option of making it quieter by closing the exhaust.
