My 2009 Base Coupe had the A6 transmission replaced with a GM Rebuilt transmission. New transmission works great but I have an intermittent issue with the manner in which the stop button work. Often I'll put the trans in park, hit the stop button, engine will stop and the ACC light comes on. If I hit the stop button again the ACC light will go off and shut down the system. Other times I can place the trans in Park, hit the stop button and the engine and system will shut off as it should. Is there a mechanical or computer problem that is causing this issue? I've never found the solution to this bothersome issue. Thanks!
Engine shutdown was normal before transmission change out. Pushing stop switch once or holding down for longer period does not change the ACC on light issue....thanks
This is an update for those who may encounter this same issue:
i reported this problem in February 2019 and the issue continued until Sept 19. Then I went on vacation for three weeks and connected a battery tender. When I stared the car and drove it the problem seems to have resolved itself. I've been in electronics/ computers since vacuume tubes (1966) and have seen a lot of what electrons and computer chips can do...never stops to amaze me! Keeping my fingers crossed!
