Default Harmonic balancer

Anyone know what the typical cost of replacing a harmonic balancer on a 2007 base model corvette at a shop in the Houston, tx. Area?

I've seen labor costs as low as about $600 on the low end in Arizona. Normally its closer to $800-1000, plus whichever balancer you decide to go with.

Thanks, for the reply. My research has led me to replacing with the Dayco PB1117SS HB and ARP2342503 bolt as the best option.

Personally, I would go with an ATI balancer.

For what it's worth - I'm about to replace my H balancer. My car is a '06, 68,000 daily driver. So 13 years with the original. The ATI is $446.00 plus shipping/tax. The oem is $150.00. Given that I got 13 years with the original and I probably won't have the car another 13 years it does not seem worth it to spend an additional $300.00 for the ATI. I don't race/autocross it so no big stresses put on it. Just one guy's opinion... The right thing for you is what makes you happy and comfortable.

The Power Bond balancer is available for less than $100 & will perform as well as the ATI on a stock motor & is definitely superior to the OEM unit.

I purchased the Dayco PowerBond Race Performance balancer from Summit (SFI Safety Rated)

P/N: PB1117SS

$260

I haven't heard of any of these balancers failing ... Still cheaper in price than the ATI balancer

The ATI is overkill for a stock application. PB1177SS or whatever is maybe $100 more than the OEM. I'd do that. The OEM HBs are well known for going bad at random, even as low as 6k miles (there are infinite threads on this). Otherwise you're basically just setting yourself up for failure and another repair bill down the road.
IMO.

You can get to the balancer by moving the steering rack over. It is NOT 800-1000 job. Get someone that knows what they are doing.

Yeah, I will gladly take $800 to change one of those. It's a PITA, don't get me wrong.. but you can shove the steering rack out of the way easy enough that it's not THAT big of a job.
