Default New gearbox - different connectors (T-56)

Hi

Recently received a gearbox I bought from a fellow forum member.
When I started to prepare to remove my current transmission, I realized there's some different connectors on the new one (and a lack of one as well).
My gearbox is from a 2007 car, and the new one I believe was from a 2007 as well.

On my current gearbox, I HAVE 2 connectors above each other ( in the blank hole), and not just one as in the first picture of the new gearbox. Both connectors look exactly the same.

On my current gearbox I DO NOT have the big golden connection situated at 45 degrees of the trans case.

I've tried to search what each of these connectors does, and if I can run with/without them, but with no luck.

Does anyone know? Really need to get this gearbox changes, and I didn't know there were any differences between T-56 gearboxes coming from Corvettes.

Thanks !

Only the 2005 T56 had those 2 switches on the side. Exact same switch that does 2 different things. If you have both and they are both connected then you must have a 2005 car. When swapping a 2005 to a later T56, owners have simply connected all 4 of the wires, from both switches, into one group connected to the 1 switch on the later trans.

Post 2 in here has a pic of a 2005 T56 showing the 2 switches:

Your other question I can't answer, I don't know what that is. Wait for Dano523 or someone else who knows to chime in.

The T56 you have posted is from a 2006.

Like RicK T stated, you can splice the 2 wires to make it work for the reverse switch.

You must have the export model so that's the reason you have 2 reverse sensors and no skip shift.

All export models came with 2 reverse sensors regardless of year on C6's.

Thanks guys, really saved the day for me with the new trans! Going to make the switch tomorrow

You are correct, its an export model (EU model)
So i simply splice the two into one, and simply remove and plug the CAGS?

Yes, splice the 2 wires.

You can just leave the CAGS (skip shift solenoid) in place.
