Default Right Rear Wheel Clunk

Noticed pull out of a parking lot today that the right rear wheel made a clunking sound and the car shimmied a little. I have a lift and will put the car up but not sure what to look for. Do we still have half shafts, universals, etc. in a 2006 base model . Maybe the rear. Thoughts!

Check the end links on the rear sway bar, these are known to make some strange sounds. Especially at slow speeds.
easy DIY for about 50 bucks.
Also axle nuts.

What you described matches exactly what I experienced prior to replacing my rear end links. Noise disappeared immediately. Hope it's that simple to resolve your concern!

I agree with Plan C, rear end links. Mine got so bad that the rear end would step out under hard braking.

I’d highly recommend going with the LG end links, makes a HUGE difference on our cars for rear grip and overall stability. I’ve tried getting a hold of GM engineers about this issue, but didn’t have any luck. Probably the worst OEM part on our cars honestly.

Let me know if you get the LG’s, I’ll help you out with some alignment specs I found to be pretty damn ideal

Re-torque the axle nuts to 140 lbs. If that cures the noise, replace with new nuts.....they are designed torque-to-yield.....just a couple of bucks each. If noise persists, then check end links.

So, I put the new end links on and I think it's fixed. I will have to check in a short ride. I could not get the car on my 2 post lift which pissed me off. Now I need to check into that also.
