Default Header wrap, can it be done ?

Anyone able to do it with the headers on the car ? I'm assuming the preferred method is to obviously take the exhaust off to do it properly. Any do it without removing them , does not look possible unless you are either A.. a midget 2. B. a 2 year old or C. a Leprechaun ????? Need to reduce under hood temps fast, my coolant was around 230 driving in to work this a.m. Was about to go the Dewitts route but after reading some posts, many said the stock C6Z were powerful enough. I did order the Caspers Electronics fan control switch and will get that mounted hopefully this weekend so I have total fan control, but still looking to reduce UTH temps. Also looking at maybe cutting some openings in the hood so I can install f hood vents from Summit Racing. Car is supercharged and running meth on 6psi... I was only driving a bit aggressive this a.m. , not hitting redline or anything , the high temps concern me as it effects my oil pressure as well. Purchased some Royal Purple HPS 10w40 to change oil to, also changing the blower oil at the same time, or as soon as I order that oil. Can't even imaging how high coolant temps would climb in the summer time when it is in the 90's outside if it is this high already( 70's this a.m. )

Get them ceramic coated instead of header wrap. Looks better, lasts longer, stays cleaner.

Oh, and it's easier.

You are hitting 230 plus with only 70 degree weather? I don't think wrapping the headers or getting ceramic coating is going to do a heck of a lot for you. I had my headers ceramic coated, inside/out, and it did seem to reduce underhood temps, but you may need to be looking for a possible cooling problem. Very good idea to go to a different set of fans, reduced current draw, over the OEM fans. Would also make sure the cooling system is fully purged of air. Those temps seem extreme to me. I rarely saw anything above 215(running a lower temp thermostat in mine) in 100 degree plus heat, stop and go traffic, high humidity of Austin and Houston, TX.

Yeah man, bothersome to say the least. Way to high coolant temps. Looking at a Derale 4000cfm dual fan set up from Jegs for under $270 shipped. Anyone know what I need to hook this up to stock PWM ? Part # is 259-16927

If you put header wrap on your headers most companies will not honor their warranty as the heat from the wrap may crack the welds

Not sure what warranty is on the headers right now, main concern is knocking the temps down though, first i am hearing about header wrap cracking welds ??

With fluid leaks on header wrap that may cause your car to burn to the ground. No one seems to like a melted puddle of plastic that used to be your car on the ground
