VERY bad to do as a daily driver, especially in a cold climate. The t-stat role is to get the engine to a high temp quickly and maintain it so moisture/condensate can burn out of the oil.

it would probably take a long time to heat up, but the thermostat also controls flow through the radiator as well. if there isn't a thermostat, the coolant will flow so fast through the radiator, the radiator will not be able to do its job and remove the heat from the coolant. it will eventually heat soak and run hot.
