Default Texas speed headers ??

So I have been doing a lot of research and YouTube watching to get information on what brand I want to go with. I see mixed emotions on Texas speed headers being good and some saying they are thin and cheap. For me I am not racing or anything more than regular bolt ons with possibly a cam upgrade down the road

They're a good bang for your buck headers.

I love Kooks.

If its me, I pass on them...you get what you pay for, even if the price is high. Seen lots of C6Z owners complain of fitment issues as far as the slip fit joints coming loose over time, so they have to readjust the piping. The "X" in the x-pipe is located way to far back IMO...not only does it look backwards; but from what I know about X sections and scavenging benefits, it should be closer to the collectors. I've also read the headers hang low, so scraped/dented primaries are a thing.

Plenty of good deals on used LT's...get a higher quality product IMO. ARH, Kooks, LG...

I have a set on a different car but compared to the LG's I ran they are not quite as nice. That being said they are not as bad as some make out. 98% the gain for 35% the cost? Yes please.

Kenny if your looking for cheap just go with Hinson and their catted H-pipe setup. Still a good price and bargain if you want cheap.

I would rather save and buy quality and good products. Looks like kooks or JBA should be a goood set or American racing. Like the flange designe connections

My theory, that is maybe wrong, but it seems that most of the problems I see with any exhaust is the people putting them on have never done an exhaust before. They end up tightening up various areas of the exhaust and then try and fit other bits to it. It doesn't work that way. It needs to be a little loose to get everything to line up properly. Granted, some are WAY better than others and there are some exhaust I won't touch but the Texas Speed units it's have come along way from the early days.

I can only give my experiences.

Thank you that’s what I am wanting is experienced and shared knowledge. That being said I was looking lastnight on juices motor sports and a set of looks and catted X pipe are pretty reasonable and seem to be the top of the line Planning to do the headers and X pipe and I take and leaving the stock muffler for a bit

If money is not an issue for the few grand, get the best product you can as the likelihood of issues will be much less.

I had the Billy Boat PRT units on my C6. I got the larger piping and it said "ZO6/ZR-1" on the mufflers. It was fantastic. No drone and sounded really good.

I did. I ran the LG 1&7/8" headers into it. Pushing 700 HP through it sounded great.

Or look for used kooks or ARH headers and mid pipe.
I picked my 1-3/4 ARHs up on here for $1050. 1-3/4 gives you a little more clearance too

Supercharger with 10 psi and full exhaust. Really quite simple.

I remember after I got it done my dad's friends all said it wasn't possible their 440s and 427s back in the day couldn't make that blah blah blah. lol They even said my stock LS1 Camaro wouldn't break 14s. With the 2.73s it popped off a 13.5@104 with bald tires. They still tried to doubt the newer cars after that.
