I was told long ago, if you put a blower on a stock A6 (6L80), sooner or later the transmission will die. In my case, it took around 50K miles for the 2-3 shift to start acting weird. In the small world that it is, it turned out that Century Transmission is just a couple miles from my house outside of Houston. That's convenient!
We went for a drive, and Mike (the owner) the owner said that was a "flare", where it revs like it can't hold for a second. 2-3 pack was going.
We discussed, and I settled on their Super 6L80 Performance Overhaul. It is an seriously long list of replacement parts, including a billet shaft. Totaled out around $6K, with a warranty and a tune.
Now, I'm ready to up the horsepower. Well, except for the stock internal in the LS3 . . .
You won't find me writing a lot of endorsements, but I'll write this one. Mike and his team REALLY impressed me. Mike is clearly a VERY knowledgeable guy when it comes to transmissions, pristine shop, good communications, everything on time, and easy to work with.
They do good work. Ronnie is a transmission genius. I'm within walking distance to their shop. They have told me the same thing about the transmission.

They did a 4L80 for me a few years and more than a hundred thousand miles ago. That transmission spent most of its miles behind a 700+hp TVS supercharged engine. It was also in a 5000# truck that went to the strip as well as doing a lot of towing. I remember the rebuild being done quickly and at a reasonable price. They will get all of my future business for auto trans rebuilds.
