So a few weeks ago I took my 2010 Grand Sport in for service because the Service traction/ABS/Active Handling all came on. They diagnosed it with a bad BCM and was replaced. The lights came on a few days later and I took it back to the dealer and was told the technician forgot to program it for my car. Left the dealer that same day with no isssues. About a week after that the service active handling/ traction control came on but no ABS light. I took the car to the dealer for the third time later that week, however the lights did not come on again after turning the car off. I was hoping they would come on while driving to the dealership but that didn't happen. I had them take a look at the car again (remember there's no warning lights on at the moment) I told them that the two warning lights had come one and I noticed that the brake pedal was stiff. While driving the car I can set the cruise control and normally I can just tap the brake and it will cancel. After having the BCM replaced I have to turn the cruise off manually with the switch next to the steering wheel, tapping the brakes does not cancel the cruise unless I apply a good amount of pressure to the pedal. After telling the dealer all this they diagnosed the car a third time and informed me that I will now have to replace the booster, master cylinder, and the brake position sensor. Does this sound right to anyone? Could this problem have been caused by the new BCM? I already have them 2k to replace that and now they are saying it'll be another $1200. Has anyone experienced anything similar to this?
They’re just firing the parts cannon at the problem. There is no way it is the master booster and brake position sensor. Maybe one of those but not all three.
i agree that you need to find a better place to work on it.
