ok, lets fix this now, 2005 Z51 , 48,000 MILES, 2nd owner 3 months, got the service active handling message on dash,
so I can shut car off /restart goes away, so decided to turn it off with the button on the console, still get the message ,but seams like only when I do a hard pull / hit the gas as in like entering the freeway 30mph up to 80 quickly , I get the message, got it once when I swerved hard to miss something in the road, @40 mph . but had the system turned off , apparently if its off it still throws the message ? have not pulled codes yet, dealer has to do it because it is a body code thing. high tech code reader ? I see many of you have had this problem , wheel sensors , yaw sensors , like to just dis-able the traction system thing .
It gets readings from wheel speed sensors and those wires are open to being damaged and shorting on the underside of the car. That's a good place to start. The system can be disabled with an ECM tune if that's what you really want.
yea, and also read the yaw sensor, steering wheel position sensor and as you said each wheel sensor , really don't need the car control helping me drive , drove many 400 hp older cars that had no traction control, it is in my right foot and 2 hands , been driving with it off by using the button, but still activates the service warning on the dash still want the ABS brakes to work , will look into the ECM tune, the only reason it bothers me is after the warning comes on the 1st to 2nd shift is really hard , so have to stop and restart it to clear it

Reason: more thoughts
A ecm or bcm tune ? read somewhere un-plugging the BCM , sometimes fixes the problem ?
ECM = ENGINE -- BCM= BODY , WOULD BE WHEEL, YAW , STEERING POSITION SENSORS ?
unplugging BCM because of bad connection,, do you disconnect car battery first ?
You need to have the codes pulle and you will need a code reader that will access the BCM not the ECM and it is not suggested to have the ACH tuned out or turned off in the BCM with a Tech II.
With your ACH disabled your ABS should still function unless otherwise stated on your dash that the ABS has been disabled.
What are the codes that are in the "BCM"? without those it is hard to assist - it could even be the ABS module gone bad, a hub RF, LF, RR, LR, SWPS, etc. the codes are what need to be read in order to get started and headed down the road to repair.
if you pull the steering wheel sensor connector on the newer corvettes (05 had its own computer so not sure if its the same?) the AHS light will illuminate on the dash but it will never intrude. ABS may still work, not too sure.
what did you mean by newer ? and by PULL
assume you mean UN-PLUG IT ?
GM did the steering wheel position sensor fix [ little clip in the connector ] on my car years ago , haven't re checked it ?
sure would like to TOTALLY DISABLE the TC / AH , BUT NOT ABS BRAKES
