... is this a known percentage, or would a Poll produce a valuable answer?
When I bought my C6, I rather quickly entertained the idea of one day driving it really fast on a race track. Then the urge waned, and I reconciled myself to the likelihood that I never would do it. Now that I HAVE Tracked the car, I wonder how many Corvette owners have taken their car to a Track Day, or definitely plan to very soon.
The poll would work best in the General forum where more people are likely to see it.
You'd need to define things like what type of tracks, since that term (track) applies to many different forms of performance driving and racing.
The ability to include more than just one form as an answer, since multiple forms are commonly practiced by enthusiasts, such as drag racing and closed track road racing.
The frequency of participation would be an important part of a poll too, because only 1 or 2 times ever doesn't compare equally to monthly for several years.
it is a very small percentage, although Corvettes are well represented at every track day I've attended (in almost 30 years of racing/instructing).
Small percentage is due to the large volume of Corvettes sold. Lots of Corvettes by number hit tracks fairly regularly. I see Vettes at every drag strip, every road course, and every drift event. It is a super convenient package: good power, good handling right out of the box plus it takes well to mods and is easy to work on and replacement parts are fairly cheap.
I've notice there are 34 types of Corvette owners:
Garage it: treat the vehicle as an investment, keep it numbers matching and pristine.
Drive it: People who daily drive or often drive their Corvette and just treat it as a fun sporty car and do most anything in it even if it means a few rock chips.
Race it: People who specifically seek out the Corvette as a race platform.
Play with it: It's a toy and its fun to use as a toy, whether modding, washing, showing it off, or just staring at it in their garage.

^^^You missed a large group of owners who use the car as nothing but a toy. They garage it, baby it, only drive it on Sunday, and they mod the hell out of it, but it will seldom if ever see a racetrack. Many of the mods have no practical purpose other than cosmetic and makes the owner feel good.
Well, I may be ready soon to go back again. It might seem that it was pricey to attend my first track day, but that's just the way it is. The total sum was not really very much. The Fee just to be on the track was $120, and there was additional insurance to buy. And gas to get there and back. But for a total of less than $500 I think I was let off pretty easy.
Since then I have done a few things that seem quite cost-effective:
- Diablo i3 inTune and Custom Tuning from Lew
- Nice set of Corvette Wheels from a guy at the track
- New Set of Cooper RS3-S Summer tires
- Two full sets of Duralast Gold Ceramic Brake Pads in just one year
- Front Splitter and Rear Spoiler
- Vararam Cold Air Intake
These taken together have made a big difference in performance and appearance, and the added costs are about $2,700. That is simply not a lot of money for an obsessive Corvette habit .. err, I mean ... for enjoying a nice sports car.

Hold on, you think $500 for a race day is a lot of money? That's not that bad at all and then you said insurance was included on that??? What kind of insurance did you get for less than $500 including your price of track day?
It's a shame not to track a vette. Although after getting bit with the track bug, street driving is pretty boring if your the type that values a clean driving record.
