Default Rebuilding LS2 engine

Hello seeking some knowledge. I have 2005 c6 run good no issues, but I would like to have the engine refreshed it has 120k. I would like some advice where I can find a cost effective 370 or where I can take my engine. I’m not a hard core racer or anything like that but would like to add a bit more punch. I did get a hold of trick flow heads and Brian Tooley cam stage 3 cam package already. Just now seeking a short block. I’m located in Texas. Thanks for any information..

At 120,000 you're perfectly fine. No need to rebuild. Hell I put an A&A supercharger kit on mine at 160,000 These motors are much more reliable than people think. The ones you hear about breaking are usually very high HP builds or hard racers. You won't have any issues.

The cheap route .....

Used LS3 heads (much better flowing than your LS2 heads)

Used LS3 intake manifold (much better flowing than your LS2 intake manifold)

A mild Stage 1 or 2 aftermarket cam with the LSA at 115 or 116 for good driveability

Oh, don't forget a set of headers

If you're on a tight budget, slap the heads on and enjoy! You'll need to upgrade the intake manifold to see the potential of the heads and cam.

If you don't mind spending a few bucks, you can put a TxSpeed 402" short block under those heads https://www.texas-speed.com/p-148-ts...ort-block.aspx. It doesn't cost much more for the extra cubes vs stock cubes and it will really up your game. Sell your good running long block to recoup some of the cost. Still need to upgrade the intake manifold too. The extra cubes will up drivability a notch also. You can save a few bucks by rebuilding your own short block, but be prepared to be "down" for weeks.

Change the oil and spark plugs, coolant and leave it alone.

There is the best idea in this whole thread !

[If] the compression is ok, you don't need to do anything internally to your engine.

What a little more power without cracking open the engine ..... install a set of headers and then get it dynotuned
