Default Help...need shifter linkage length

i have this thread in the zr1/z06 forum. this is for a 2007 z06.

A few months ago i pulled the drivetrain out to do:
1. change clutch
2. have the transmission gone thru
3. have the t-tube freshened up while it was out
so while everything was out and sent off, i:
4. sent out my shifter box and linkage for mods.
now that i got my trans and t-tube back, clutch is in, slave is mounted it was time to bolt everything together and stab it all into the clutch, which was going good until i went to mate up the shifter box to the linkage. it is about 1 1/8" short. see picture. which leads me to ask...does anyone have their shift linkage out of their vehicle and could measure it for me. also see pictures.
the car is a 2007 z06, if that matters or not.
thanks, any constructive input will be appreciated. any off the wall comments will be graded.

some of the questions already asked:

Did you use the original torque tube?
that is my original t-tube, i wrote my name and phone number on it and it came back that way. that is why i am looking the the length of an original shifter linkage for a 2007 z06.

Is it possible the trans is actually in gear?
Is it on 1,3 or 5 th gear.

the trans is in neutral. in that position of the shifter shaft, i can move it radially. that is the position it is in as shown in the first picture where the connection is short. if i push the shifter shaft in or out from the neutral position, i cannot turn the drive shaft. in the neutral position i can turn the drive shaft.
i am thinking that the person who modified my shift linkage to weld on the u-joints on each end welded them on about an inch too short, which is why i am looking for the total length of a stock z06 shifter linkage.

Why would it be modified? Those joints are factory.
the vender modified it to use u-joints on both ends. those u-joints are not factory.

...and I believe both the Coupe and Z06 use the same linkage, P/N 21994500.

thank you for taking the time to measure your linkage. i was getting about a 1 1/8" difference in mine that is 23" overall length so your 1 3/16" difference is right on the money.

looks like the shop cut the linkage to the 2009-13 model.

the vender sent me an e-mail last night and i sent him the linkage for him to lengthen, should have it back early next week.

thanks all.
