I installed a performance computer chip about 3 weeks ago and noticed a large improvement in performance. It only cost me 209 dollars, so it was very inexpensive. There is big difference with throttle response and it feels like an increase in power. The company claims a 50-60 hp increase, but I haven't had it dynoed. The company is called, chipyourcar. Has anyone had there car dynoed after installing a performance chip?
That's what the company claims....its not my claim. Personally, I noticed a big difference with throttle response and it feels like an increase in power.....but that could just be the chip tuning the engine. I watched the video and didn't see any dyno sheets to back up what he was speculating. He was discussing his opinion, but he seemed to think it was a fact. I'd be interested to see if anyone has an actual dyno reading, not just an opinion.
I checked out their website for fun. I input my 2001 2.7L 4cyl Tacoma into the system. There are 3 chip options, claiming up to 60hp gain. LOLOL. That's like a 30% increase of my total HP by a simple plug-in OBD dongle utilizing timing changes on a stock N/A 4-banger? Laughable.
Common sense tells me this is a sham. I AM curious as to how it changes your throttle response, though.
