Checked threads here and looks like my latch is bad . The window goes down a little and door won’t open.
But here is the thing I can’t really be sure it’s the latch because.
1 It only happens now and then
2 it happens TO BOTH DOORS
i find it hard to believe both door latches went bad at the same time.
I would try cleaning the contact pads before I went to ordering parts. My car used to do the same thing. Don't remember exactly how they came apart, but I think it is just 2 screws into the door and the whole pad comes off. Might be another screw to open it up and get to the contacts. I cleaned the copper contacts with a little piece of 2000 grit and applied a small amount of dielectric grease to keep the contacts from tarnishing again. Search for a thread on door contacts which I'm sure has better information than I can pull out of my rusty brain, but I would try that first.
Just can’t believe both latches went bad at the same time.
Disconnect the battery for about 10 mins, then reconnect it again.
Just ran into a ***** show this 4th with pulling my C6 off the tender that is had been on for a couple of weeks, to find that is had all kinds of problems induced by the battery tender glitching the system somehow. The fob would not open the rear hatch, the passenger door would only index the window, but would not open the door, and the list went on.
10 mins later after the battery disconnect and reconnect to reset all the modules/systems, all was right again with the car/ world again.
Would check the BCM connector to at least clean and reconnect them with the battery disconnected to start with, since this is a problem with both doors.
Also, when you have the BCM connector off, check the amount of slack in the right blue and red connector. GM short changed the amount of slack in some of these car wiring harnessses, and pasanger pressure to the carp can be enough to cause the connector to loose connection if the wire harness does not have enough slack to the BCM from under the carpet.
Also, have you went through the charging system for voltage checks/checked the DIC voltage with the motor running to make sure that is showing at least 14.3 volts?
I ask this, since still think that its a bad connector problem in the car somewhere that is cause a voltage drop, and its causing the systems to glitch.
Checked connections on BCM. I have slack in connectors .Same problem also now passenger window staying down 1/4 inch sometimes. Tried indexing window but sometimes window still stays down slightly. Doors won’t open from inside also.
maybe BCM is bad I just don’t know.Dano523 thanks
