Default LS7 oiling questions

Hello folks,

I bought an 08 Z06 and am rebuilding the motor and prepping it to do track time. I plan to make it a stock rebuild with reliability mods.
I have some oiling questions.

Does anyone have an oiling diagram?
Where is the oil cooler in the oil circuit? Between the scavenge pump and the oil tank? Or between the high pressure pump and the oil filter?
Are the oil lines going to the radiator for the engine oil or transmission oil?

Has anyone retrofitted the ZR1 oil-to-water cooler to the Z06?

I found this diagram of the LS9 / 09+ LS7 increased-capacity oil tank below.
Is there a way to purchase item 'B' and add it? Or am I stuck with buying a Lingenfelter modified oil tank?

Thanks all.

I'll be doing the zr1 oil cooler this weekend or next, depending upon the weather and my motivation. You need a 2009 or up for the mounts for it to be there on the oil pan. My 2008 z didn't have the bolt holes to mount it. My 2009 does

I don't think you can buy the pony tank for the oil tank. There are more differences, the top on the later tank is plastic for instance. And you'll need to vent it too. Very often people are selling tanks in the for sale area. In fact I think there is one posted there about 4 pages back as of now.

There is a transmission cooler in the radiator, there are two lines for that. The oil cooler is in front of the radiator, not in it.

I don't have a routing diagram to post.

The oil cooler is after the pressure pump and filter. It's an air to oil cooler as mentioned, which is preferred for road course use as far as oil cooling performance.

You can only buy the complete tank assembly, so the modified Lingenfelter tank is probably the best option.

Our oil pan baffle for the LS7 pan also helps reduce oil starvation: http://www.improvedracing.com/oil-pa...fle-p-675.html

If the factory oil cooler setup isn't sufficient, we also make an upgraded oil cooler kit: http://www.improvedracing.com/oil-co...600-p-768.html

For an LS7, I would do what improved racing mentioned. That worked fairly well with my 08 Z06, but you do need to address all the issues with the platform. Lingenfelter tank upgrade and a baffled oil pan. The OEM cooler on those models were better for track use and I did not have to upgrade those tracking in summer. There has been others who have retrofitted the ZR1 or 2009+ z06 option, but it's less desirable for track use. You would be taxing your radiator even more vs the separate system you have now.

For extra precaution, I would update the scavenge pump while breaking everything apart as well.
