A friend of mine has a question about his C6 but isn't on the Forum. I told him I would ask here.
His car is a 2009 Z51 manual coupe. He is looking at a set of Welds S71 single beadlock wheels. He was told he could run an 18x5 on the front and a 17x10.5 on the rear with 8.8 back spacing and they would clear the brakes. Does that sound right? If so, what drag radial tires would be the best fitment?
So many questions lol, sounds like your friend is looking at a decent set up to hook some serious power, kinda odd if that’s the set up of choice he doesn’t know if they’ll fit or not
its a little difficult to believe that a guy who built a vette with enough power to need beadlock wheels and plans on racing it doesn’t know basic beginner things, but it’s third party so I’ll keep that in mind I guess.
the offset is what he needs to know, those welds will clear his brakes all day long he just needs to decide what offset to use, is just call weld and get the right numbers.
It isn't for the power. It's a H/C/I car but nothing crazy. He's in it more for the appearance. Our cars don't get inspected in KY so you can basically do whatever you like.
If he’s got a base or gran sport the brake rotors are no issue everything fits over them, 15” might not but he’ll probably catch some flack running beadlocks on car that’s no where near needing them...but his vette his money at the end of the day.
Only problem is when I go to meets and am looking for runs I’m gonna probably ask dude with beadlocks if he wants to make any runs, it portrays having a very fast car and it’s always disappointing when the dude with beadlocks says he only making 600whp☹️
