Very strange timing issue
Hey guys,
I was driving my 06 in the canyons the other night and all of a sudden I lost my tach reading on both the dash and the HUD. Then I noticed that the timing was all of a sudden out of whack. I would hit the gas and the car would pop like crazy, and if I tried to get on it, the car felt super lazy and extremely down on power. When I got it to a parking lot, I shut it off, let it cool down, and when I fired it up about 30 minutes later, the tach was fine and the car was running great. The next night the harmonic balancer went out, so I’m wondering if that had something to do with it or if it’s the crank sensor going out? The car is supercharged with heads, cam, tune, etc. I’m putting a new ATI balancer on the car Thursday, but I thought I’d check here to see if there could be another problem that caused the tach to stop reading and the car to act all weird before I get the car all put back together.
