Hello everyone. I'm in need of identifying a wire. Under the hood on the fuse box. Wire F6 on the grey connector what does this white wire do?

Sorry I was in the middle of typing this and I got a phone call and just rushed it. My car is a 2007 bass Corvette and under the fuse box is a big gray connector I need to know what the white wire in F6 does. The fuse box has 3 big connectors this is the gray one I need help with.

For Fuse Block C2 - Grey Connector, the F6 (WT) wire is for Engine Speed Control. If you need more info or schematics, let me know

There are 4 sections to the underhood fuse box. C1-C2-C3-C4. The engine control module (ECM) at pin 48 for engine speed signal (behind passenger front fender) goes though Block C2 at pin F6 (WT wire) for circuit 121. This white wire goes to Block C3 at Pin D8 which splits into 2 white wires and goes to the HUD for RPM and the other goes to the Engine system logic in the IPC as the engine speed signal (PRM)
Also from the ECM, vehicle speed signal (MPH-KPH) coming from the Engine Control module Pin 57 through the fuse box block C3 at pin B2 as D-GN/WT wire for circuit 817 which feeds the HUD, the NAV radio, and the Instrument Panel Cluster IPC)

The Engine Control module (ECM) is powered by the fuse 11 in the underhood fuse box (ECM/TCM Easy Key fuse 15A)
The individual components that the VSS feeds also have their own fuse -Cluster-HUD fuse 15A in Passenger footwell and NAV (Radio/ANT/VICS Fuse 17) also in passenger footwell.

The signals for Engine speed and Vehicle speed originate from the ECM which gets their feed from the vehicle speed sensor (top right side of rear differential)

Hopefully, that explains some of the connections under the fuse blocks.

I assume this also run the tachometer. I am wiring up a magnavolt boost a pump and it tells me to tap into this wire. But it didn’t make sense at first why the RPM wire on the Magnavolt has to be tapped into the fuse box and not the Ecm. But now it does

That wire will give you an RPM feed, as it does for the tach and the HUD RPM

Good luck
