Default Long Crank Time when starting

2010 LS3 with 29K miles. Usually fires right up and runs great, but have noticed about 1 in every 4-5 starts it has a very noticable extended crank time, to the point that i wonder if it's going to start. Happens most of the time when it's already been running and is warmed up, but has happened when cold also. I don't drive it overly hard, but seems to happen more frequently after I've pushed it a little bit. Looking for suggestions?

Check starter small (crank wire) for damage they known to cause the extended start I put a flat loop connector and nut instead of push in plug never a prob.

Next is battery diagnostic.

I already experienced a long crank issue
It was (after hours of search...) the Intermediate Pump Harness
Just check if a pin is burned (you just have to take out the left rear wheel and wheel housing)

Failing cam sensor can also cause extended crank times !!

I also experienced a failing cam sensor, and the car was cranking but didn't start at all. In my opinion it is not the problem of the OP
However it is easy to change so you can try

Without a "pinpoint test" using a DSO (digital storage oscilloscope) one would only be "guessing" as to the correct diagnosis as I am...these Hall Effect sensors will sometimes fail gradually or suddenly...the waveform pictured below is from my cam sensor which is a 1X...a 0-12 volt square wave...now the car will start without a cam sensor signal although it will take a little longer but without a crank sensor signal the the will not start

I think you are right but mine was crankiiiiiing but no start at all
Since I changed the cam sensor -> no more problem (until the pump harness failed ofc)
OP you should find a Tech2
