Default Opinions/Advice . No more reverse .

So last saturday while attending a local car show I noticed that I could not go into revearse.. jumped on here and starting researching on what could be. I checked the fuse all good there , next I pulled the selenoid on top of trans and gutted it out where I removed the springs etc reinstalled housing plugged connector back in and still couldn't slide shifter into reverse . Now last thing I did was remove shifter to check for anything broken and did not see anything wrong there. Shifter looks brand new I did re alignment re torque down bolts and still with problem. I tried going into 1st gear first or even 3rd then reverse with car on and car off no go. Pushed car back while trying to put into reverse gear and no go. After more reading here I'm starting to think its internal ? I was thinking maybe ranger method for clutch fluid and maybe doing trans fluid flush but 1st - 6th gear works smooth as butter all day while driving car. What you guys think ? Now as for selenoid does the spring mechanism need to be present so car can go into reverse or is the way I did it by removing everything the correct way to test if gear would go in? Thanks for any response sorry if in wrong section new to the board and new to car . 2 months .
