Really, what spec oil? Dexos 1 or 2, sn, sn+, 4718m. I want to use a good quality full synthetic oil but which one? My car is a 2010 stock Ls3, last oil change was Castrol synth 5/30 magnatec. If an earlier spec oil is a better oil I’ll look for that, dunno if dexos is good for my application 95,000mi. So I’m looking for good oil for my motor....
What spec does your owner's manual call out? ANY oil that meets that specification. I personally use Pennzoil Platinum, but if it's out of stock at WallyWorld when I go to purchase I simply buy another highly rated full synthetic oil like Castrol Edge, Mobil 1 Extended Performance, Castrol Magnetec.
theres no magical oil for these cars....these threads pop up every single day same answer.
new 2 me ..... Exactly ... The Chevrolet engine in these cars is nothing special or out of the ordinary , and does not require some 'Special' engine oil made from 'Unobtainium' or 'Dragons Blood'.
Look at your Owners Manual .... It will tell you to use a full synthetic SAE 5W-30 engine oil that meets the Dexos spec (such as Mobil 1)

Cracks me up man. I'm I'm convinced some people think this car was made with the finest Americans wearing white gloves...and that the car will self implode if given .01 ml of the incorrect octane fuel.
