Now that I have about 20+ shakedown drag strip runs on my "new" C6 GS A6 it is going back to my tuner for some tweaking. My biggest issue is what I describe to be a "lazy" or "slow" 2-3 shift compared to the other shifts. The A6 is a Century built unit with an FTI converter. I put the selector in "S" and stab it- no paddle shifting. It seems the car stays in 2nd way too long and labors a bit even backfiring on some runs. Once the 2-3 shift (finally) happens the car accelerates like it was shot from a cannon.
I would appreciate input on what could cause this issue and what transmission tuning parameters need to be adjusted so I can have an educated discussion with my tuner.

The tables that control the transmission for Drive vs. Sport mode are completely different in the tune. As such, the first thing I'd do is see if the car behaves the same in Drive.
If it does, then you've got a hard parts issue but if it is noticeably different (or better) then that'll give your tuner a better idea of where to look in the tune to make the needed changes.

Ouch. Same in "S" and "D". I hope the trans does not have to go back to Mike @ Century for the fourth time
