Default Fog Light Replacement

I am removing the fog lights on my C6 to get more air flow to the oil (right) and trans (left) coolers behind. (I acknowledge the differing opinions as to if this actually improves cooling unless scoops are added). At the the night drags I like to run the fog lights without the headlights so I will be losing this capability. I would like to put a small center-mounted led bar light at the bottom of the grill inlet to provide some replacement lighting- it is quite dark at the end of the track at the turnoff area. I would appreciate suggestions for a nice looking non-cheezy set-up (as opposed to looking like I took something off a monster off road Jeep ) Pics would be great!

I don't think it is so much a scoop that is needed as the fog lights already sit in a bit from the front. I think it would useful to find a way to funnel the air through the cooler and out the outer side. Out of interest, what coolers are you planning to use? Earl's curved coolers? As for your light bar, maybe try to find a COB LED light bar. I think those would look pretty slight and provide a bit of light. It depends on if you want a light with good throw, good flood, or somewhere in between.

Thanks for the reply. I have holes drilled in the wheel wells for air to escape. The trans cooler is a B&M Hi-Tech model and the Oil Cooler is of unknown origin as installed by my builder. Given I am trying to find my way back from the end of the strip I think a blend of flood and throw is optimal.

Do you have fans on the coolers?? If I had to aux mount lights, Id run a pair of D2 pods from Rigid in the fog light slots. They are about half the size of the slots so you can still have air flow to the coolers. I have the D2s on my Land Cruiser and the light quality is superb. I use them to drive up to South Lake Tahoe at nights.

Anything you put in the grill opening (lights, Brake ducts, etc) will either block air going to the radiator (bad) or divert air going to the radiator (also bad).

for a street-driven car, it’s probably not going to have any effect or even on the track if it’s not pushed hard

but if someone needs brake cooling, they might be pushing hard enough that you don’t want to reduce the already-meager cooling ability of these cars.

I made these scoops for my foglight ducts and, with a stoptech trophy big brake kit, I’ve never had brake issues. while there are plenty of things for me to improve, one thing I’m continually able to to is out-brake everyone.

if anyone wants to borrow the wood buck I made to form these around, let me know.
