So I have read all the threads about this issue and none are like the issue I'm experiencing.... when the door is closed and I try to open the door the window does it's thing, you hear the latch release but the door won't open....I swapped the door pads and that's not it... I think it's the latch but it doesn't do it all the time...Plus when the window is down... the door functions correctly every time. I have tried disconnecting the battery and touching the positive to the negative to drain all the residual energy out and to no avail.
I'm stumped because when the window is down it works fine so I don't want to go through the hassle of replacing the latch just yet...
Any help with this it would be greatly appreciated.
Does the lever on the floor open it? Mine did the same and I just used that lever until it started working again. It turns out I was not using pulling pressure when I used the electronic openers. I think it gets a little dirty on the inside mechanism and the manual override sort of cleans out the trouble spot after a few days and then if you apply pressure when you use the handles, it seems to stay fixed.
Yes the lever on the floor opens it... so does the trunk one, but the door works fine when the window is down... which is something different than everything I've read.
Maybe the window is catching on something. Look for any witness marks all around the window area. Have you tried to give it a stern pull with the window up?
Does it open with the button to get out?....If so it's not the latch in the "B" pillar.
The door does opens perfectly from the inside with the window up or down, from the outside it only works when the window is down. I have also tried resetting the window memory and still have the same issue.
This one is weird, I can't seem to figure this one out just yet.

Checked the window, it's working perfectly and not catching on anything.

OK....Back to the drawing board......Good Luck and come back with the fix.....IF?
My 08 does not open from the outside or the inside and i checked for a signal at both and all checked ok....I looked at the latch at a few GM parts places online and they show two different parts numbers?..What is the part number on the one that you got...Thanks
