Default Texas Speed LS3 Head porting

Texas speed offers their cnc porting services for the LS3 head and I am wondering if any owners can chime in on their power/tq gains going this route? Or other vendors? Looking for suggestion as I'm a few months away from diving into everything.

Other options I have looked at
GPI porting service
GM CNC ported Heads from Submit racing

08 LS3 M6 NPP car.

Current Mod list
Halltech MF103
TSP 1 7/8th LTH
3 inch catless X-pipe
Vmax Ported Throttle Body
Dyno Tuned

Plans for this spring
Spinmonster 230/234 .615 .600 114+2 Cam
BTR Springs/Pushrods
Johnson 2100 Lifters
Texas Speed Ported LS3 heads

Looking to make between 500-530 whp and 450+ wtq

Thanks!

Can’t go wrong with TSP or GPI when it comes LS3 they have the lower elapse 1/4 times on stock block LS3 but your other choice imo intake runner is unnecessarily too large.

High 400s low 500s defintely in reach. You are probably going to need a better or ported intake manifold to get your higher number.

I will probably be going with GPI and their rod mod. Seems to have a proven 10-15whp

Here's what I did with their heads. https://www.corvetteforum.com/forums...cam-build.html

It's been over a year now and it's still an absolute blast to drive. Powerful with perfect manners and excellent fuel eco too. I've done more than a few LS builds over the years. Both supercharged and N/A. Looking back, there seems to always be something I would have done differently on those earlier builds...hind sight being 20-20. Wouldn't change a thing on this one though. Got it right.

With stock compression, displacement LS3 and TSP Ported LS3 heads, I topped out a 478hp and 422tq to the wheels on my 1995 Impala SS.

My major mods were:
Lingenfelter GT1-1 cam.....229*/242*, 114* + 0*, .668"/.668" lift with 1.8 rockers.
GPI radius rod LS3 Intake
1 7/8" LT Headers with Magnaflo cats
2 1/2" DynoMax Cat Back
3200 Stall Circle-D torque converter and a built 4L60e transmission

I now have the 260cc TSP Precision Components Heads which were good for an additional peak power of about 17hp and 23tq to the wheels. But....the new heads were worth about 25hp from 3500 to 5500 RPMs.....which is VERY noticeable.

On a tight budget, I'd recommend TSP ported LS3 heads....on a liberal budget, I'd recommend the TSP 260 heads, the AFR Mongoose heads or (if your budget is REALLY loose) the Frankenstein F310 heads.

We've run the TSP ported LS3 heads on a bunch of builds over here and they always come out great. Good power numbers and no issues. We have some good pricing on them with free shipping and tons of cam options when you're ready. We also offer intake porting through Jokerz that should be worth another 10-15HP

Thanks for all the replies everyone!

I have a follow on question, generally after doing work like this to a SBE LS3 (Heads, Cam) should I still run 5w-30 oil or go to a thicker 5w-40 oil like Rotella T6?

Ever consider a supercharger? A&A. Lots of hp, stock engine...only need to replace the fuel injectors. Stock engine performance and fuel economy below 2000 rpm. I have 580 rwhp with the base 6.2 liter engine. Hp with the LS3 will be a lot more. Should you decide to ever sell your car and think a mod''d engine would hurt resale, iit's easy to convet back to stock if you save all the original parts.
