Hey Guys,
I an in the process of replacing my master cylinder on my C6 Z06 and need guidance. I am trying to reconnect the master cylinder line back to the slave line but its not happening. The brake booster makes it impossible to reach from the top of the engine bay and the hard inner fender lining only leaves enough room for one hand to manipulate the line making it impossible to put the retaining clip in while keeping the line together. I have watched a few videos online and have not found a good technique yet. Any help would be greatly appreciated!
TIA
Sam
If brake no clue. If you mean the clutch master lines I think you can access from underneath or through the wheel well. More work, but I removed the fender ( once you've done it you'll find it is very easy) and then after you remove the window washer tank you'll have complete easy access to entire system.
Thank you! It is the clutch master cylinder. I removed the washer fluid tank but not the fender. I will try going under the car next, having a hard time getting the line to completely seat, have no idea how I will get the clip in yet!

The connection is a "quick connect". Try putting the clip on the line connection first. Then press in the center button on the end of the line of the other connection to release internal pressure. ( You'll note the female connection has a small X plastic stud inside its connector to release the pressure also but you have to get it started first before the pressure releases. ) Then just push the lines together.
Hey Guys,
Got the Flu and had 9 days of work in a row so just finished today. I cheated, had my wife compress the valve together using a pry bar on the master side and a piece of wood on the slave side. I then put the retainer pin in. It was very easy that way. Thanks again everyone for the input!

Depending how much my hands hurt I either unbolt the brake master and swing it out of the way and reach one hand around the fender and the other hand up through where the wheel liner is. Loosely install the clip, push the two lines together and then seat the clip, tug on the connection to make sure it is seated. Gently push on the clutch pedal; if it goes down the connection is good. Sometimes I remove the pipe from the master cylinder, clip it into the slave cylinder line then re connect it to the master cylinder.
