Debating headers on my Z but really don't want much of an increase in noise . I have B&B Bi modes like the sound .
I know the Zs have good flowing manifolds just wondering
"Much" of a noise increase is a pretty vague term. I have headers on mine and you can whisper a conversation in my Z. I have full sound deadening treatment though. My answer would be, get the headers and if it's too loud, add MLV. Done.
If you aren't planning any other mods, I'd stick with what you have. Now when/if you do heads and cam, then you'll want the long tubes. I have long tubes on my heads/cam LS3. With 3" non catted midpipes leading to ZR1 cans, you can't hear any exhaust at cruise or accelerating casually. It will wake the dead when you get on it though.
I have TSP 2.2 cam Vara-ram intake AHP Heads but no porting was thinking MSD intake .
Headers bang for the buck not great cost per hp and PIA to install .
Think going to focus on handling for know.

Even without the "worked" heads, you're leaving quite a bit on the table. LS7 heads are bad *** as they come from the factory. That's a nice healthy cam and a big improvement over the stocker. Headers aren't that big of a pain to install. Just get the correct midpipes and it will all bolt together with your stock mufflers.
Yes sir,
Guess headers much more easy than cam install and dropping cradle oil pump balancer OMG . It's getting off the OE down pipes
Putting down 540 RWHP know just cam and Vara ram

Heavens yes, headers are a much easier install. You can use a gas ax if necessary getting the old stuff out.
