Just had a 4-wheel alignment of my 427 vert at a local dealer because of excessive wear on the inside edges of both front tires that caused me to replace with two new ones. Below are pix of the old tires: left front (worn down to the belts) and the right front. The third image is the before/after alignment. My question is why did the RF tire have so much inside edge wear, when the specs were within the normal range (green)? These tires had 26K miles on them when the pix were taken. Also, any comments on the measurements would be appreciated. Thx all
Neg camber was a little higher than spec on the LF, but nothing huge. I'm a little surprised by the wear... I would have expected a little more even.
Assuming there's no play in any of the steering or suspension components...
Driving style might play a role. Lots of straight line/freeway running, with little hard cornering might give you that wear.
If that's the case, I'd recommend standing the F tires up a little straighter, maybe to the most positive side of specs.
Keep an eye on the tire wear...
The readings they adjusted to look pretty good.
The lower caster reading on the LF will help compensate for road crown, but shouldn't induce any real pulling beyond that.
I try to get the rear toe a little more even side-to-side, but that's just me... it's plenty close enough.
