My 2008 is in need of new rotors and I'm also thinking of upgrading my front calipers to 6 piston vs 4. It was equipped with the cross-drilled rotors. Been thinking about Wilwood 6-Piston Forged Superlite Calipers with the 13.06" or 14" rotors front., and Forged Narrow Superlite 4 piston calipers and 12.88 rear rotors. Other brands that I should consider?
Will I have to upgrade the wheels? What type of pads should I get with this upgrade?
There are a lot of pad choices, and some common ones. You'll hear some here probably. All depends on your Application...I'd talk to the Vendor(s) also - many have their own pads like Stoptech.
Have you considered Brembo StopTech, Baer, interesting to see what high quality performance options there are.

Ditto with this, since brakes are only going to be as good as the tires can grab, and if you still going to be running street tires, then better breaking system just means you into the ABS system faster with less pedal push instead.
Also, if you do upgrade the brakes with different calipers for say race compound tires, then make sure that the front and back are a match set so you keep the car neutral braking balanced (so you can weight transfer it into a corner under braking).
Thanks, for all the feedback. I may do a little track time but nothing heavy. Will stick with street tires, probably Michelin Pilot Sport 4S or Pilot Super Sport. I plan on doing all four brakes, front and rear. Still trying to decide whether to go with 6 piston front calipers or stay with 4 piston calipers. Been looking at Wilwood and Brembo.

Which specific calibers?
I bring this up since the OEM type calibers are a far cry from race calibers. Take the ZR1 OEM Brembo calipers, and in fact at road course race temps, will actual burn the OEM's up. Hence the OEM calibers have rubber dust and O ring seals, and can not take race heat.
On the other hand, the race Brembo calipers use Teflon and high temp type seal to deal with the higher heat instead (and why they are thousands of dollars more as well).
Note, you can rebuild the OEM's to a point to deal with some of the extra race heat, but will still have problems in other areas of the calibers instead.
I would look at is the cost of the caliper upgrade is it worth it for a few track days? The car with good fluid decent rotors and race pads is very capable for a few track days. At any rate what ever you decide Carbotech makes pads for all aftermarket calipers and of course for the stock calipers.
