I installed my long tubes, and noticed the fit of the x-pipe and connection pipes is the worst of any fit ive ever installed.

anyone else have figment like this at the connection pipe on DS? This is the only way to install them pipe. Otherwise it hits on the body to try and get it to tuck up. I called into speed engineering and their phone support is almost non existent.

Their connection pipes to cat back and at their removal leg of the x pipe leak like a **** too.

No issues here, I even had them apart and put back together a few times due to tranny service and tranny cable replacement and the gas tank leak where dealership dropped the cradle and torque tube, no issues even after all that.

Sounds like you have a bent x pipe or something going on. Sorry to hear about the customer service issue also.

Are you using the correct pipes at the rear of the mid pipe?

yes. With having a non z06 and a 2005-2008 model there are only 2 pipes that fit.

I would PM Sean at speed engineering, he was very responsive and helpful when I had questions.

I didn't have any fitment issues like that but all of the joints leaked. Ended up using these lap band clamps on the 3" connections and used exhaust sealer on the rear over-the-axle pipes. Racer buddy said I should put 3" V-band clamps at the headers and 2-1/2" V-band clamps at the over the axle pipes and TIG weld all the other joints but I'm getting by for now. It may be an issue in the future to get the over the axle joint apart but I will deal with that later.

We've installed them a bunch and you really can't complain about the fitment when you consider the price. We've installed more expensive headers that fit as bad or worse before. Just make sure you have your Xpipe the right way. If its upside down on a lot of set ups it'll still work but just fit terrible.

Most headers leak a bit too, the connections aren't perfect and the clamps never work perfect. We usually use a little exhaust sealant around the connections and it cleans the leaks up.
