Default ride height sensors - needed?

are the ride height sensors still needed after the magnetic shocks are removed?
i replaced the magnetic shocks with B8 Bilsteins and saw these sensors. figured out what they were, but i can not come up with a reason for still needing them. i realize they may not hurt being down there, but i figured i would keep everything clean as possible and remove them if not needed.

the F55 package was removed with a Tech II.

i was curious if these sensors also fed into the traction control system for instance.

thank you for any information.

I'm curious as well for the future. However you could try just unplugging them and driving around for a week to see if there is anything different that happens.

If you get a code I guess you need them. If not, take them off.

No you don't need them. If you removed the F55 with a tech2 you are good. If you put in simulators that all you have to do. Nothing else is needed.

Why did you remove the MRC?

Did the ride improve with the bilstiens ?

i put on new z06 sway bars and B8 bilsteins and will be putting a little bigger tire on. at that point i will push the hp to about 500.

so the shocks were part of a package to improve overall performance. Basically i am "approximating" a z06.
it will cost less, but it wont be quite as good either.

as far as ride. depends on what you wanted. the old MRC shocks gave a very nice GT type ride. yes the B8s are stiffer. but i would do this again no question. my body roll is greatly reduced. Of course now active handling kicks in more due to hard turns and not having good enough rubber to hold it. but i am working on that

however, i drive a F350 dually as my daily driver and it has an upgraded set of springs on hit. so i am very use to a rough ride. So compared to that the corvette does not ride bad to me, but most others that have been in the car say they notice it.
its always give and take. my truck has a 6500 lb payload but rides like it. the corvette can take corners faster, but you do feel the suspension.

in short, if your goal is performance, the bilsteins are the answer
if you want a really good compromise of ride and performance, the MRC is great.

It is a night and day difference to me. My C5 no leaking, no codes but I could feel every bump even on new tires.

My C6 again no leaking, no codes but bounce bounce bounce over any bump. Dealer replaced them and ugh still didn't like them. Yanked and replaced with C6 ZO6 shocks.
