Default Traction control issue

I have a 2008 C6 Z51. When traction control is active and I accelerate the rear end wobbles and there is NO acceleration. If I switch TC to off it accelerates just fine. Anyone have an idea?

Would dare to guess that the car is going into either limp mode for some reason with all the nannies on, or the rear end is breaking free enough to kick in TC when active, and why TC is chopping the motor.

So need more details on rear wheel wobble (hence rear tires spinning or not) in the first place, and if the rear tires are spinning in T/C on mode, it going to clip the motor before you blow a diff up. If tires not spinning, and kicking into limp mode with T/C on, then just need to put a Tech II on the car to search for active or History DTC codes to figure out and point you to the problem instead.

More info on C6 traction control issues. The problem occurs at low to moderate speed. No wheel spinning, no hard acceleration. If I'm cruising at highway speed or slower, 40 mph, and try to pass another car within reason, the car wobbles at the rear end. Without TC activated the car will accelerate as it should. It feels as if something is loose and allowing the rear to wobble such as a broken shock or sway bar but this does not happen in other modes such as competitive driving mode. So you know about my driving habits concerning this question: I like speed as most of us do, however, I probably drive more conservatively than many Corvette owners and drive for the joy of driving and not looking for a race or an opportunity to go go fast every chance I get. I live near the mountains and enjoy driving the curvy roads like a road race course so it's important to me to have total control. Even if TC is off and the carworks better in Comp mode I'd like to have everything working properly. I hope this additional info helps with a diagnosis. I'll be looking closer at possible causes as well. Thanks.

Again, pull the body codes with a scanner that will pull down to the body code history (GM Tech II scanner history). Some this is causing the car to go into limp mode in TC on mode. Could be as simple as the wrong tires on the car, that has the rear tire OD larger or smaller than 1.08" from the front tires to cause a problem in the way that the EBCM is reading wheel speed for all 4 corners for T/C, or could be a problem with the EBCM/sensors/wheel speed sensors isntead. Hence comp mode shuts off TC as well, so would not be problem with TC turned off, or even in comp mode with T/C turned off as well.

As for the car wobbling at the rear end, bank it from the EBCM kicking it, when it thinks that there is a problem. Hence EBCM has a pump and vavle to control the the car to keep it straight when it thinks is out of control/rear tires are spinning with TC on, and uses such to pull the rear end back in. So we know that the final effect is the EBCM kicking it, but we need to figure out what sensor has gone south with a bad reading, and causing such to begin with instead.

Tires not be the correct size will do it since the ratios that the EBCM is reading will be off, as well as tire speed sensor problems themselves, or as something stupid like the steering wheel not clocked correctly/popped apart after a repair, and the Steering wheel postion sensor not reading 0volts when going straight forward.

Bottom line, need a scanner like the GM Tech II to be able pull data from the car to find the problem sensor child (short of the wheel sizes begin wrong to start with).
So on that note, list the front and rear tirel sizes on the car, since it could be the problem all on its own/nothing wrong with the car sensors isntead. Again, when you look up the tire OD;s, rear wheel OD should be 1.08" larger than the front tire OD. There is some wiggle room in the 1.08", but not much if your way out of that difference isntead.

Also, if you list your location, someone around you may have a Tech II to use on your car to quickly find the problem, if the problem is not tire sizes to begin with.
