Default Z06 caliper rebuild issues

Just had a set of z06 calipers powder coated and I’m having trouble reassembling the front calipers. The rear pistons went in without much resistance however the fronts won’t budge even when coated in brake assembly lube. Any input on past experiences or tips would be appreciated!

Was the inner face powder coated? Did the powder coat make the I.D. of the piston hole too small?

the piston bores were taped off, I managed to get them in last night after some extra lube and effort

If they are that tight going in, are they going to be too tight to work properly?

I’m assuming that if I can push the pistons in with my thumb they should be ok to use

the bores were taped off, the new seals were just making it hard to push the pistons in
