Automatic shifter change
Looking for anyone that may have changed out a auto shifter in A6 auto car.
I have installed a B&M Pro Bandit shifter in car. Im using a powerglide shifter. Its taken some work but its working good thus far.
Issue seems to be that the wires that plug into old shifter in some way tell car what gear its in, in other words not in park.
This had an affect on the ability to start car.
I plugged in old shifter and left it in park and it allowes car to start.
With HP tuners logging as car is driving you can watch trans current gear changing at each gear change up and down.
Although when in park it says trans current gear as 3rd.
Anyway Im assuming its a issue in wiring and wondering if I can either in some way loop wires going into old shifter or somehow tie it into the neutral safety switch on shifter.
Any help or thoughts with this or someone who has done it would be grat.

As a quick update there are two micro switches in shifter, old shifter. one which has yellow and white wire is what tells car its in park. That seems to be one of my issues. the second which has a blue and orange and blue wire is yet to be determined.
